A big thank you to the team at Alexandra Primary school for having me, it was an honour to be able to leave my mark in your special community. My latest mural stands as a vibrant testament to the rich biodiversity of Aotearoa. I’ve brought to life the intricate dance between the Mokomoko (Otago skink) and the Kārearea (New Zealand Falcon), they tell a story of harmony and interconnectedness— a homage to the delicate balance that sustains the diverse ecosystems of Aotearoa.
The Mokomoko, a creature emblematic of the southern landscapes, weaves through the mural with a sense of serenity and resilience. Its intricate patterns and colours tell the story of adaptation and survival, an ode to the delicate balance of nature.
Contrasting with the Mokomoko is the powerful presence of the Kārearea, the majestic New Zealand Falcon, soaring across the mural with an air of untamed freedom. Symbolising strength and agility, the falcon embodies the spirit of the open skies and the untamed beauty of the New Zealand wilderness.
