2025 marks a huge milestone for me—20 years as a creative force—and my latest outdoor mural in Waihōpai is a bold reflection of that journey. This piece stands as a testament to my growth, resilience, and artistic transformation over the past two decades. It continues my Evolution Series—an exploration of past, present, and future—where my signature stencil work collides with an ever-evolving approach to mark making.
The Kōtare, our sacred kingfisher, is at the heart of this mural. A bird known for its sharp vision and adaptability, it mirrors my own journey as I navigate change, embrace new technologies, and continue to thrive in an ever-shifting creative landscape.
This mural was created as part of South Sea Spray Wahine, a kaupapa celebrating the strength and power of women in the arts. It honours those who are bold, determined, and fearless in their pursuit of what they love. Evolution Kingfishers is a continuation of my legacy—a reminder that we can all adapt, grow, and soar to new heights.
