The FLOX 2 Day Workshop is an immersive, hands-on experience designed for beginner to intermediate students, with the flexibility to be tailored to individual skill levels. Across two full days, you’ll be guided through my signature stencil and spray paint techniques, building confidence and depth as you go.

This workshop is an invitation to step away from outcome-driven making and focus on process — strengthening technical skills, creative confidence and an understanding of how these techniques can evolve within your own work.

Teachers are welcome! Come and learn some new skills so you can then share with your tamariki.

All materials are supplied and students receive a 15% discount voucher valid for anything in store.

Address: 13 Great North Road, Grey Lynn, 1021
Duration: 10-4pm

No experience required.

2 Day Workshop Schedule

Day One — Foundations

The morning
The morning session focusses on learning all the tricks and tips around cutting stencils, how to safely use your scalpel, change the blade and the overall meditative art of stencil cutting.

The afternoon
Spray painting takes place throughout the afternoon session and focuses on practicing depth, colour options and how to apply and paint the stencils you've made in the morning session.

Day one is grounded in the foundations of my one-day workshop. For first-timers, this offers a solid introduction, while those who’ve attended before will use the time to revisit the process, sharpen their skills and explore more nuanced stencil and spraying techniques.

Day Two — Expanding & Refining

Day two moves into more advanced stencil-cutting techniques, guiding participants through a series of exercises designed to deepen their understanding of building a stencil form from scratch. The focus is on layering, composition and planning, as students work through the process of developing stencils from initial concept through to cut form, before using their own stencils to explore spray-painting techniques. This session is more detailed and responsive to individual ability, allowing participants to challenge themselves, refine their approach and gain greater technical confidence.
