Shadow Veneer: Kōkako & Banksia

Extending the Antipodes Collection into new dimensions, these limited-edition Shadow Veneers transform FLOX’s signature stencil aesthetic into striking 3D form. Each piece has been laser-cut into a rich jarrah veneer, its deep ember tones enhancing the layered intricacy of the designs.

Mounted using three sleek black exhibition pins, the works sit proud from the wall, creating subtle shadow play that amplifies the sense of depth and celebrates the cut-out stencil forms. This interplay of light and materiality elevates the artwork beyond the surface, offering a contemporary and sculptural presence.

Two works anchor the release: Kōkako & Banksia and Tūī & Bottlebrush — each uniting native New Zealand birdlife with Australian flora, and in doing so, honouring the Antipodes’ shared landscapes. Together, they embody a meeting of cultures, species, and craft, brought to life through FLOX’s unmistakable vision.
